Potted History  

Ramsay is an award-winning writer, magazine and digital editor based out of London specialising in travel, luxury, lifestyle, fashion, music, art and architecture. After many years living and working in Middle East as London's Daily Telegraph correspondent in Beirut, he became the founding Editor-in-Chief of Time Out Beirut before returning to London in 2007 to take up a role as the Editor-in-Chief and Co-Publisher of the inflight travel and destinations magazine for Europe's largest airline Ryanair, Let's Go. 2015 saw him close down the print magazine for Ryanair as he launched the airline's editorial output into the digital/online realm. He then moved into the realm of creative consultancy in both digital and print, creating and conceiving the editorial output for luxury villa specialists UltraVilla, rebranding and relaunching the Middle East's premier high fashion, art and lifestyle magazine and web presence with A Mag for luxury department store Aïshti.

Ramsay's further editorial credits include five years as Features Editor for Beirut's Daily Star newspaper, Contributing Editor to 71% The Superyacht Magazine and Editor of online travel zine Hike To The Moon (which he continues to edit today). Ramsay is a creative consultant in the US for the Gerson Lehman Group, his book output includes 2006's The Hedonist's Guide to Beirut, and he produced and appeared in his close friend Anthony Bourdain's three travel programmes on the Lebanese capital for The Travel Channel and CNN: No Reservations – Beirut (2006), No Reservations – Back To Beirut (2010), Parts Unknown with Anthony Bourdain – Beirut (2015). 

His academic history includes an MA with Honours in History from the University of Edinburgh, an MA with Distinction in International Relations from the London School of Economics and PostGrad Diploma with Distinction in Print Journalism from the London College of Printing (now London College of Communication). 

Among various ongoing projects and freelance writing, Ramsay is the creator and Editor of The Sounder – an online and print offering for premier Beirut bookstore Papercup. In addition, when he is not writing Ramsay can be found mixing funk/disco/groove/hiphop across Europe and the Middle East alone and as part of his musical crew The Beirut Groove Collective. He is an avid collector of vinyl and is currently writing his first novel alongside a collection of poetry due out in 2018. Ramsay is father to daughter Lamia, 10, and son Sami, 6, and husband to Goufrane.
